We Need Economic Support for Nonprofits

The CARES Act included loans, tax incentives, and emergency assistance grants that have been a lifeline for many nonprofits during this difficult time. Unfortunately, these initial steps aren’t enough.

Tell Congress: Include economic support and emergency funding for nonprofits in the next COVID-19 stimulus package.

The initial injection of emergency federal funding provided nonprofits with immediate financial support, enabling them to keep workers on payroll and expand services to pick up the pieces in communities hardest hit by this crisis. But as COVID-19 drags on and new and unexpected challenges develop, additional assistance for nonprofits is required. These include:

  1. Extending and expanding the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) by enabling a second round of funding for all 501(c)(3) nonprofits, increasing the employee cap, and creating a set-aside for nonprofits;
  2. Expanding the Employee Retention Tax Credit and enacting programs such as the proposed WORK NOW Act (S. 3747/H.R. 7495) to help nonprofits retain employees, scale service delivery, and create new jobs;
  3. Appropriating additional emergency funding through federal grant programs that enable nonprofits to support communities.

Charitable organizations are the backbone of our communities. As the country responds and recovers from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, our work to support and strengthen our communities is more critical than ever.

Join us and tell Congress to support nonprofits in the next COVID-19 relief bill.

Act now!

This campaign has concluded.
